My name is Robyn Whitelaw and I am an Authorised Marriage Celebrant appointed by the Attorney-General’s Department.
I reside in the Dandenong Ranges and have done so for the past several years. While looking at Historical Society publications of the area I found that my great Grandfather was an early pioneer in the area as a tree feller, my Grandmother delivered mail on horseback to my town and my Father was also born in this area within a good arm’s throw of my home. It may suggest that the apple doesn’t fall far from the tree or something draws us back to our roots. My own family have grown and made families of their own of which I am very proud.
My home on one acre has suitable space to enable me to conduct small weddings in a lovely garden especially from spring to Autumn, especially for the “Just Marry Me” or a modified version of the Midweek wedding with a small number of guests.
I am prepared to travel wide and far anywhere in Australia but of course there would be additional costs involved. As an Authorised Marriage Celebrant, I thoroughly enjoy being able to be instrumental in the joining of two people in marriage. Your ceremony is written personally for you, based on your personality, desires and ideas.
As an experienced speaker, writer and educator with a Masters Degree in Education, my aim is to ensure that your day is special and that your Ceremony is conducted professionally, with sincerity and in accordance with the Marriage Celebrant’s Code of Practice.
I am available to conduct Naming Ceremonies, Renewal of Vows, Commitment Ceremonies, Life Celebrations and trained as a Funeral Celebrant.

A funeral celebrant is a qualified individual who works with the family to conduct a ceremony tailored to the beliefs, values and desires of a deceased individual and his or her immediate family members. The funeral service may or may not include aspects and components of “traditional” religious and/or may include other arrangements with services such as Masonic components and ex service personnel from the Defence Forces or R.S.L if desired.
It is one of my greatest honours to facilitate the funeral process and be your funeral celebrant or memorial celebrant for family and friends who are grieving. I am fortunate to have the opportunity to hear stories and memories of fascinating people (even the most “normal” of lives has involved something interesting), and I respect this opportunity for the privilege it is. The funeral or memorial ceremony is often called “Celebration of Life”. Costs for the service vary according to the type of service provided, e.g. if photos are required to be prepared for showing and/ or printing of service booklets. Sometimes the Funeral company elect to include these in their costs. I would be honoured to have a discussion to assist you with planning the personalised service for your loved one.
Renewing your wedding vows is a joyous, wonderful event. After all, you’ve made it through 5, 10, 15, 25 ,30, or more years together, which is certainly worth observing! Sure, those years have probably included some rough patches, however you overcame them and are still very much in love. Rededicating your loves to one another with a vow renewal is a beautiful way to celebrate this! Your ceremony should be less formal that a wedding- more casual and fun. I can assist you with all the planning and ideas for your event.
As a supporter of same sex marriage, I look forward to conducting weddings for the Gay community. For your special day I can help you design a unique wedding ceremony that tailors to your every need. I can provide you with some inspirational information and assist you to find some resources to assist in planning your day. Don’t hesitate to call and arrange a meeting.
A naming day is an informal occasion, gathering friends and family together to celebrate the birth and naming of your child.
Most often, you as parents will state your love and commitment to your child and declare hopes for their future. You may want to choose special people to be part of the ceremony. Rather than godparents, whose traditional role is to help guide the child in a Christian life, “supporting adults” or “mentors” (who may be friends or family) just need to say that they will be there for your child as he or she grows up and throughout their life in whatever way is needed.
I would be pleased to discuss ideas with you to plan and conduct a Naming Ceremony for your family.
The Marriage Ceremony that you conducted for us was fantastic . It was written and spoke with meaning and as you know, Colin and I and several guests, shed a few tears. We feel that we really connected with you and you were able to write our story so well. Your home and garden was such a perfect place for us and our guests. Thank you for all the time you spent with us prior to our wedding.
Margaret and Colin Heathmont
We wanted a plain no frills ceremony and Robyn was able to provide us with exactly what we wanted. The books that she lent us helped us write out own Vows and the time she put in with us reassuring us that everything would be fine on the day, even the weather, and it was, more than Just fine. It was glorious.
Angela and Tom Belgrave
The Memorial Service that you conducted for our mother was nothing short of wonderful.
The service itself was a joy and humour, telling it as our mother was, full of life and laughter.
The music at the conclusion, “I Could Have Danced All Night” , was a very fitting ending, and we could see her dancing to that tune,

I am so glad that we found you by using Search It Local for My husbands funeral.
You were so patient with me and guided the family with the writing of the service, making sure that everything was included that I wanted and told the story of our life together. Kevin was a very private and quiet person who loved his family. Thank You for reading my words of thanks and love for Kevin, I appreciate that you spoke facing the casket, that made me so happy.
